About Rick Deare
I entered the recruiting profession on purpose.
I was a sales and operations executive skilled at assembling, developing and managing teams. I made a “mid-career” change into the recruiting profession after realizing that I was actually spending more than 75% of my time in pursuit of top talent because at least 90% of my success depended on it. Having experienced the power of difference-making talent first hand, my passion and focus became centered on creating business impact through the acquisition of top performers.
The game changer in my recruiting career came when I was a Management Recruiter for Best Buy Company. Working as part of a $1billion business unit, I became one of the first “direct” recruiters in the history of the company. I researched, identified, called, developed relationships with and recruited top competitive talent. I worked with an extraordinary team of people at Best Buy that accepted some new (radical at the time) ideas, took some risk, believed in me and rallied around a team effort that produced amazing results.
I founded Deare Recruiting Solutions (a division of Deare & Associates, Inc.) more than a decade ago as a recruiting and consulting firm dedicated to the pursuit and acquisition of exceptional talent. You can read more about me on the Deare Recruiting Solutions profile.
I started the RecruitingImpact.com blog in January of 2008. I’ve been an avid reader of recruiting blogs from just about the time blogging began and I have received a huge amount of information from bloggers like Jason Davis, Shally Steckerl, Joel Cheeseman, John Sumser, Jim Stroud, Dr. John Sullivan and more. My blog is part of my evolving contribution to the recruiting scene.
